Cedar Creek Animal Hospital - Our Doctor and Staff

Dr. Sue Johnson (Owner/ DVM)

Yes, Dr. Johnson went to A&M!  ...Although not right away. Her undergraduate degree is from UT Austin (Hook'em Horns!), and she spent a few years after that working, traveling and studying other things.

But after stumbling across a vet school open house at Cornell University, Dr. Johnson discovered her true passion and returned to school, graduating from Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 (Gig'em Aggies!).

From there she went on to spend 6 years with a small animal & exotics practice in Santa Clara, California. Then she was lured away to the United Kingdom where she spent another 6 years practicing veterinary medicine, this time in a picturesque English country village. And while she originally worried the pace would be too slow paced for her, Dr. Johnson found it to be anything but.

Eventually, though, she grew homesick enough to finally return to the US, moving first to the southern California desert for a couple of years and now finally back to north Texas where she grew up and still has strong family ties. And she's finally putting her roots back down, having become a practice owner - something she'd dreamed of for years.

Outside of work, Dr. Johnson's life currently revolves almost exclusively around her young daughter (and stolen moments with a good book) but used to (and will hopefully one day again) include hiking, biking, camping, diving, traveling and all the other adventurous things one does when unencumbered by the demands of an active 6 year old.

Cassidy Crawford (Veterinary Technician)

Cassidy joined our team as a full veterinary technician in June of 2018 after having previously worked at another vet clinic in McKinney as a kennel/veterinary technician.

After five years of working in boarding and grooming, Cassidy discovered her passion for the medical aspect of pet care. Her current goal is to complete her Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) Degree and possibly focus in emergency medicine/internal medicine.

Cassidy currently shares her home with 3 red heads of the feline variety, as well as a little grey tabby and a bearded dragon. She also has a huge extended family that includes 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds, and many-a-fish.

Jennifer Hill (Veterinary Technician)

Jennifer joined our team in February of 2019, deciding to pursue her passion for veterinary medicine.

She has a special love for all of the exotic patients we see, and has owned a plethora of exotics over the years. She’s kept a variety of reptiles and amphibians, birds, a cat, small mammals, and a multitude of dogs.

Jessie Hill (Receptionist)

Jessica joined our team in May of 2021 after showing some interest in the profession after hearing stories from her sister who is a Veterinary Technician.

She currently shares her home with a bearded dragon named Ciel, a hedgehog named Kevin and her cat named Beans who she raised from 10 days old, and is the light of her life.

Lauren Frazier (Veterinary Technician)

Lauren joined our team September of 2020 with 8 years of prior technician experience. She discovered her love for animals at a young age, and when not at the clinic is a dedicated animal curator at a wildlife sanctuary. She encompasses her house with her wife and a variety of animals including reptiles, amphibians, a bird, and many small mammals.

Hannah Frazier (Veterinary Assistant/Reception)

Hannah joined our team in December of 2020. She has several years of experience in human medicine. She joined our team after discovering her love for Veterinary Medicine through her wife, who is a Veterinary Technician. She shares her household with her wife and encompasses it with a variety of animals including reptiles, amphibians, a bird, and many small mammals.
