Dr. Sue Johnson (Owner/ DVM)
Yes, Dr. Johnson went to A&M! ...Although not right away. Her undergraduate degree is from UT Austin (Hook'em Horns!), and she spent a few years after that working, traveling and studying other things.
But after stumbling across a vet school open house at Cornell University, Dr. Johnson discovered her true passion and returned to school, graduating from Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002 (Gig'em Aggies!).
From there she went on to spend 6 years with a small animal & exotics practice in Santa Clara, California. Then she was lured away to the United Kingdom where she spent another 6 years practicing veterinary medicine, this time in a picturesque English country village. And while she originally worried the pace would be too slow paced for her, Dr. Johnson found it to be anything but.
Eventually, though, she grew homesick enough to finally return to the US, moving first to the southern California desert for a couple of years and now finally back to north Texas where she grew up and still has strong family ties. And she's finally putting her roots back down, having become a practice owner - something she'd dreamed of for years.
Outside of work, Dr. Johnson's life currently revolves almost exclusively around her young daughter (and stolen moments with a good book) but used to (and will hopefully one day again) include hiking, biking, camping, diving, traveling and all the other adventurous things one does when unencumbered by the demands of an active 6 year old.
